Television B92, which stood out in the 1990s for its critical reporting on Slobodan Milošević’s regime, will soon change its name to O2 and receive a new programming schedule, with which it will break completely from the old concept for which it was once known.
According to this television company’s management, as of autumn the programme will be aligned with “new world trends and the demands of viewers”.
Many journalists, including those who used to work for the company, say that this decision is completely expected, given that B92 “has long not been what it once was”.
Specifically, B92 radio and television were bought in 2010 by a consortium from Greece, after which this media turned towards commercial content and ceased its critical and objective reporting.
