Nenad Živković, a journalist of local Pančevo-based portal ‘Pancevo.city’, has filed a second lawsuit against Radio-Television Pančevo and its chief editor Jasmina Petković, this time for a series of featuees aired on this television channel in which he was dubbed a “student spy” and “an agent for Ustasha confrontations with Serbia”.

However, RTV Pančevo lawyers stated in court that these allegations about the journalist are “accurate and do not represent an insult to the prosecutor”.

As evidence supporting this claim, the lawyers stated that Živković has never sought that the television publish a correction or point out certain shortcomings, while he shared the broadcast reports on his own Facebook profile.

Živković nonetheless claims that these reports presented untruths and offensive value judgements that harmed the reputation and honour of the prosecutor, and is thus seeking compensation for mental anguish and defamation from this television company and its editor-in-chief, in the amount of 300,000 dinars (approx. 2,500 euros).
